Want to beat the heat?!

Thinking about having a ceiling fan installed?

Or maybe you want to replace or update an existing fixture?

Here is a collection of information we've shared with clients in the past to help narrow down what style/type/size fans.

Take a look at the following links and resources to see if it helps you find a fan that would be a good fit for your home!

Informational/fun fact from “Popdukes” (aka, The Boss: Robert Fairchild):
One of the reasons we have so many houses in North America (though personal knowledge is limited to New England, specifically) with 8' ceilings is due, in part, to the housing boom in the 40’s-50’s (after World War II) and the attempt to keep up with demand and build thousands and thousands of homes quickly they started to really ramp up the amount of sheetrock. He said that this sheetrock came in 4’X4’ sheets, and to cut down on installation costs, this new 8’ ceiling height became the standard.

This is where we found info regarding this factoid.

What size/type fan is appropriate for this room/ceiling height?

If you are looking for an outdoor fan, make sure that the product you purchase is rated
for that application! Here’s a

What kind of control do I want to use to operate the fan?

If you currently have a ceiling light, which is operated by a wall switch one of the
easiest options can be to buy a fan that comes with an accompanying
TWO-WIRE, hardwired speed/light control.
